A road trip like no other we had done before, we would spend several days on ferries travelling north before our long drive back south again!
We started this adventure with a flight into Seattle and took our first ferry (along with our rental car) from Port Angeles across to Vancouver Island, where we spent a week doing some island exploration and two bear viewing tours.
Next on to another ferry from Port Hardy to Prince Rupert, where we joined the Alaska Marine Highway for a two day ferry trip to Haines in Alaska through the 'inside passage'.
We then road tripped our way back to Seattle through Whitehorse (Yukon, Canada), Skagway (Alaska, USA), south on the Cassair Highway to Stewart, Bella Coola, Tweedsmuir Provincial Park and back to Seattle.
This turned out to be an amazing trip for wildlife viewing and highlights included seeing 40 plus bears, lynx and wolves.
